Coaching for Success Community Programme

Ages 14 to 18

Coaching for success community programme has reimagined the camp experience with relevant, research-based learning and social emotional development skills. Success for this generation and those to come, is defined by equipping youth with skills that help them navigate their lives with confidence, a positive and productive mindset, communication skills and the willingness to connect with those around them. Youth participate in a 5–7-day residential Coaching for success community programme and 8 months life coaching by trained volunteers. Additionally, they attend a monthly workshop and group community service project. The programme runs for 9-10 months, including the enrolment phase.

Middle School Camps: SuperCamp Junior Forum & Quantum Learning for Students (QLS)

Ages 11 to 13

Early adolescence is a pivotal time when children are beginning to develop higher order thinking skills, establish healthy social interactions, and define a sense of self and personal values. Junior Forum focuses on establishing positive character traits, cultivating a mature sense of self, and building effective learning skills. Every student who attends SCJF has a personal growth and learning plan available to them that they can use throughout their school years.

This 5-day camp is fun and interactive. Year-round resources are available for success after camp.

Parent Workshop

Practice really does make progress and we’re here to support parents and children. Our parent workshops cover elements of our core SuperCamp and Quantum Learning curriculum. They are

lifelong skills that enhance abilities at all ages, and a great plan is to have a weekly family gathering to review and practice connections extending the learning into life at home, including strengthening relationships with the whole family.

Join our parent network and receive resources for parents.

All In! 8 Keys of Excellence Programme

This is a school wide programme with the goal to improve student outcomes by improving the culture, creating common language, social emotional development and youth leadership through the 8 Keys of Excellence character development curriculum. Teachers are trained in Quantum Learning Excellence in Teaching, using the optimal blend of neuroscience, leadership principles, counselling pedagogy and social emotional development. Students and parents participate in workshops for a schoolwide experience.

Drop-In Service

9 am – 5 pm

Students and families can stop by the office and meet with a coach to summarize their current concerns and establish solutions.

Out of School Suspension (OSS) Support

OSS Support is available to the students – middle and senior school ages. The goal is to provide a structured alternative to the home setting to ensure students learn, grow and develop as a result of their OSS.

PeerForward

Ages 12 & 13

PeerForward empowers students to lead their peers to and through higher education. The PeerForward summer workshop, curriculum, training camps and year long coaching equips Peer Leaders to help their peers with post secondary options and foster a culture where everyone continues education after high schools. PeerForward is more than a model, Peer Power is a movement. The programme runs at Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy.

Southland’s Community Service Project

The Mirrors Field of Learning Garden Project is a community service initiative aimed at engaging youth in hands-on agricultural education while fostering environmental awareness and social responsibility. Through this project, participants cultivate a garden space where they learn about sustainable farming practices, teamwork, and the importance of healthy food systems. The garden serves as both a learning environment and a community resource, producing fresh produce that can benefit local families and seniors. By combining education with service, the project empowers young people to make a positive impact in their communities and develop valuable life skills.

Youth and adults can participate in the service project. Contact the Mirrors office to arrange a special service project for your company or organization.
